TechnoAlpin S.p.A. produces snow-making systems used by ski resorts around the globe: more than 1,800 clients in 48 countries have placed their trust in its know-how. The company asked Reinhold Resch was asked to create a reception desk that reflected this familiarity with snow. Based on his project, Planit clad a plywood desk frame in Corian^® Glacier White and created the snow crystals by routing out the back of the panels. When not illuminated the surface feels perfectly smooth and white and the desk resembles a squarish monolith. When lit, instead, the crystals shimmer and take form, almost breaking free of the surface.
