The Brickell Flatiron is the tallest residential skyscraper in Miami. This sixty-four-storey tower contains more than five hundred apartments, with a spectacular SPA suspended more than 200 metres above the ground offering a 360° view of the city. The real estate developer, CMC Group, was founded by the Italian Ugo Colombo, who entrusted the tower’s design to the Italian architectural practice Iosa Ghini Associati. Many of the suppliers of furnishings and fittings were also Italian, including Santo Passaia, who involved Planit in the operation. Together with them, we produced the Brickell Flatiron’s large reception desk, the counter in the seventeenth-floor Wine Bar and a small reception desk in the Fitness Centre on the sixty-fourth floor. Beginning with the wood framing, designed and built by Santo Passaia, Planit provided thermoformed cladding elements in Corian® Glacier White, jointed on site and honed to produce a perfectly smooth and continuous surface. The final effect guarantees the sophisticated elegance demanded by such an exclusive environment.
